why I chose to further my education

Asking the question of why I should continue my education after high school is defiantly one of the bigger questions in life that we have to decide upon, every one around me has grown up to be the same and had some what of the same life style. Most people have a very hard time choosing weather they want to go to college or not its one of the biggest decisions someone can make.

My family has never been to college my dad only went to high school for one year, as my mom started college but did not finish because she had me. Evan though my mom did not go to college she took the long way you would call it and worked her way up the chain. My mom has been in the hotel business for fifteen years she started off as a house keeping manager and worked her way all the way up to a general major who is in charge of the whole hotel, even though she is in a good spot and has good pay it took her so long to get there. By going to college, I can cut that time in a third, I want to be able to live a good life and not have to worry about pay check to pay check. By going to college to further my education I will have many options to choose from when doing that because I will be more educated and have more options to choose from. Furthering your education is such a great plan even though its lot of time and effort when coming out of school you can hop right into the position you want with out have to be working hard for years. As well as I want to be able to make myself and my family proud, to me graduating college and furthering my education is a big step.

when I look at all the options I have I really had to take the time and sit down and really think and write out a list to see what was best for me and for how I wanted to live college was best for me .Its goin g to take a lot of hard work but I don’t mind school to much and love to learn new things, you can also meet so many great people its a fact that you will meet your longest friend in college, to me I thought that was so cool. Not only do you gain an education for what your going to school for you gain so many other useful things. For me personally I’m excited to further my education.

With that being said its such a big question that only really you can decide and answer for yourself, because it’s your life and you are going to be living it. when thinking about all these different paths you can go down you really have to dig deep inside your self to find the right one, because the same one will not always be the same for every one. As choosing to further your education I would love to chose that path even though that may not be the case for every one for me it is the path I would like to go down.

Can reading like a writer better help you understand the text?

when it comes to reading like a writer its honestly, I don’t like to read at all, Lots of what he talks about I have heard about before I and I have tried and they don’t work for me, the only thing I have ever enjoyed about reading is little kid books to my nephews. Evan though I don’t enjoy reading they say it can always get better it all depends if the particular type of writing happy, emotional etc., and you can use that peace and build of it if you like it it’s called RlW. I have not herd about this type and I thought it was pretty interesting.

When reading I think I’m going to try and read a book and use RLW because then I feel like I’m really doing some thing that could help me. I’m not reading because I have to read, I am gaining knowledge that I could possibly use in the future. Especially when it comes to English classes and what the future has to hold. It can also help me personally because I might want to read more books and reach out to new genre’s and give it another chance. In the article they also say you need to ask questions about the reading, I think that’s a good process because it gives you  a chance to stop and go back and really think about the text that your reading as well as making Shure that you understand what your reading and what’s going on in the text. It can also get you thinking about outer questions as well as springing new ideas. For me when it comes to reading like a writer, they also talked about how the author is writing weather its formal non formal etc. For me as a reader I like to read non formal text they can have more of a little bend to them and they’re more interesting to me because I feel like they can free write a little more they don’t have to stick to a script as much. The last thing I think works best for me is when the writer really jumps around and keeps it up beat, I don’t like when a author takes forever to get to the point some authors go for what they call it suspense, I personally like when they get right to the point. When it comes to reading like a writer, I do believe that there is great points that have been brought up that has really opened my eyes to want give reading another chance and see ways that I can like reading.

In reading like a writer, it shows and gives of great new ways to look at the text and to better understand it. Evan though I hate reading it did give me another perspective at looking at reading, and how it can really help me in the future, it shows different techniques on ways to understand the text as well so that way

is blogging better then news papers?

Is blogging always the best place to get information from?

When I thing about blogging and all it has out their it really gets me thinking about how we view our lives and how our lives revolve around the internet. Many people blog on a every day basis, but is what their blogging about always true? not every thing we see on the internet is always true so why should we bias of our inter life off the inter net as well as blogging?

When following a blogger who post almost every day most people tend to feel or believe what that blogger is saying is true but have you ever really double checked the facts with some thing else? This is why I believe that new stations as well as news papers are still really good for us to read and look into. When it comes to the internet, we could only be viewing what readers what us to know about that subject this is why it is important to have other ways of being able to get information. When it comes down to news papers as well as news channels many people check over that work before it gets published, many people are on sight when it comes to the information they are reporting. Not all news channels are good though many twist words and information to make it sound more appealing and interesting to the audience, now do you think bloggers do this? I think its so important to check what ever your seeing some were with another scours because when it comes to online it could just be making you try to view something a cert way.

Not only do you have blogs that can be shaping you to think one way instead of another you also have blogs that have been out their for a long time, most peoples blogs only last around four months according to “the blogosphere” article that I read so you also have to make Shure your blogger is active and that the post is recent because as I said earlier any one can blog so even though it’s a faster way to get information you should still check news papers or other articles to contradict and make Shure that the information your getting is correct. So even though blogging is a fun and fast way to give and receive information you do need to look at other places, that’s why I do agree with other people in the class room saying newspaper are still a good place to get information even if its not the fastest we should not get rid of them. blogging is a fun way to send information and get information for any one of any age.

How healthy is the fast food your eating really is?

Hailey Evans

Do you eat chipotle often? Many people now eat chipotle since it came to Rochester in 2009. Chipotle has been a very big hit, their lines are usually backed up to the door when the lunch hour hits around noon to two, as well as the dinner rush hour that starts around five to seven. Evan know these lines are out the door you still, get your food in under fifteen minutes. Chipotle is a very healthy choice if your trying to get a quick meal, chipotle is not considered a fast food restaurant because there is no drive through. When looking for a quick meal with out all the grease chipotle is the way to go.

When stopping to eat at chipotle it is way more healthy choice then going to any McDonalds, burger king, Culvers or any other fast food restaurant. Chipotle is a quick healthy choice; you will spend the same amount of time as well as money or less depending on what you get.  What nice is it will take the same amount of time to chose this healthy food as if you were going to McDonalds. Chipotle comes with many seasoned meat choices, two kinds of rice, many diffent salsas, some veggies, sour cream, and lettuce. With having all these different choices your options, it makes you meals more enjoyable because you get too chose exactly what’s in your bowl or burrito.

Chipotle also has very health meat when it comes to what they put in their stores, all meat they have comes from small farms according to chipotle.com. the farms they partner with are farms that prioritize the long-term health of their land. The animals they pick from come from pasture raised farms, they believe “animals raised out doors or in deeply bedded pens are happier and healthier than those raised in confinement “chipotle. Com. When choosing the farms to get their livestock from they also make Shure there is no place for non-therapeutic or added hormone. Chipotle also Guarantees  produce every day. These are the type of places I love to go because I know what I’m eating, unlike McDonalds I have no clue were anything comes from.

Thinking about the places were eating, do we ever know what were really eating or if the food is as good for quality as it taste. I wonder this all the time when I’m going out to eat and eating different things. Chipotle is such a great place because your mind never has to worry about what’s going into your food, their food is Always at its best quality and always fresh you can ask anyone of the coworkers and their able to tell you as well.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
